Last month I started a journey looking for the best bean and cheese burritos in San Diego County.
I started reviewing burritos as a way to expand my writing skills and scratch that creative itch. It’s a challenge to take something as simple as a bean and cheese burrito—just four components—and try to orate about it in a meaningful way. I wanted to see if I could break down the nuances of something seemingly straightforward without coming across as overly pretentious. The goal was never to be critical for the sake of it, but to explore how much depth you can find in something so basic. It’s an exercise in finding the art in simplicity.
